The Grammar School for Girls Wilmington

Remembrance Sunday

Two Year 13 students accompanied Mrs Maggie Bolton, Headteacher, to the remembrance service at St Michaels and All Angels Church, Wilmington and joined her in laying a wreath on behalf of the school. Mrs Wilson from the English Department selected the inscription from the poem ‘Into Battle’ by Julian Grenfell:

The thundering line of battle stands,
And in the air death moans and sings;
But Day shall clasp him with strong hands,
And Night shall fold him in soft wings.
