Certificate of Excellence Work Experience 2008

In July, over one hundred Year 11 students participated in the 2008 Work Experience Scheme. Many of them worked locally, others found placements in London and surrounding counties and two students travelled to France.

Our students gained placements in a wide spectrum of careers: they worked in law firms, primary schools, veterinary clinics, film companies, fashion design, hospitals and medical centres; with the Army and the Police and in various large organisations in the City. The process of finding their own work experience is an integral part of their development and the transition to becoming responsible adults, good citizens and effective employees.

This year an unprecedented fifty six students achieved the Certificate of Excellence on Work Experience, which is awarded by Kent Works. Students had to submit a comprehensive work experience portfolio and gain an excellent employer’s report. To have so many students achieve this prestigious award is a superb accomplishment and demonstrates the high level of commitment of GSGW students – well done girls!
