What is AS/A2 Textiles?
This subject covers the whole area of textiles which involves fibres and fabrics which may be functional but are always decorative.
This exciting course allows students to develop a greater understanding of various constructional and decorative techniques. Through stimulating projects you will have the opportunity to study, propose and realise design and make solutions.
The subject can be studied successfully by those interested in artistic, aesthetic, commercial, scientific or technological aspects of textiles.
How long is the course?
The full Advanced Level qualification is a two year course which consists of the AS + A2 courses.
What qualifications do I need?
5 or more GCSEs at grade C and above.

What else is involved?
Students taking AS and A-level textiles will be expected to be well-motivated and show a high level of commitment to the subject.
Students will need to work independently undertaking research and practical work outside of lesson time.

This is based on the AS component at a reduced weighting (15% written exams and 20% project) with the additional study of three further units.
