What is AS/A2 Human Biology?
This is an applied biology course particularly suited to those whose interest in biology is focused on human physiology. It is no less rigorous than Biology and is suitable as a route into medicine and other academic degrees. Girls wishing to do general biology at university, e.g. zoology, should study Biology
N.B. AS Human Biology has some plant content and most of the physiology is studied at A2.
How long is the course?
The full Advanced Level qualification is a two year course which consists of the AS + A2 courses.
What qualifications do I need?
Five or more GCSEs at grade C and above plus, preferably, at least grade BB in dual award science or a grade B in the biology part of above.

A one-week residential field course (Cost approximately £200.00).

What other subjects can I study?
Human Biology goes well with many subjects, particularly the other sciences, mathematics, geography, textiles, food and physical education. If you want to study Biology at University you must have AS Chemistry.

Opportunities for careers in Biology have never been better. Degrees could include Medicine, Dentistry, the caring professions, Genetics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Zoology. The list is almost endless.
