Music
The aim of the Music Department is to promote creativity and enrich the experience of students through music. The department fulfils the National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and delivers GCSE courses in Years 10 and 11 and AS and A2 in Years 12 and 13.
Your daughter can have individual or group tuition in most instruments and singing and can enjoy making music with the junior or senior orchestra, the choirs and other musical groups. We regard music making as very important and valuable and are very keen to encourage every student who is interested to take part.
The content and quality of the music produced in the classroom supports a wide range of musical activities and events. The Christmas Carol Service and the School Concert are annual events. As well as providing for the performance components of the GCSE and AS and A level courses students take part in the Gravesham Music Festival, perform at the presentation afternoon and evening and have the opportunity to take part in County enrichment courses.
